OUR STORY
Elevation Golf Club was created out of a shared love for the game and a vision to make golf more accessible for everyone in the Des Moines area.
It all started in 2009, when Kassidy and Matthew Small met in college. As sport enthusiasts, we found joy in competition and movement, but we also discovered something special in our casual walking rounds at Grandview Golf Course (cheapest place to play on a college budget!). Walking nine holes together became our favorite kind of date, always followed by a stop at Tasty Tacos (yum!)—a routine that solidified our love for the sport and each other.
Golf remained our go-to summer pastime, a way to unplug, connect, and enjoy the outdoors. After getting married in 2012 we welcomed three incredible boys—now 11, 9, and 5. In trying to introduce our oldest to the sport, we realized something: there is a real need in Des Moines for accessible, affordable, and year-round golf training for youth.
While simulator golf has a lot of benefits, if you're serious about improving your game—especially during the off-season—you need to focus on your short game! That’s why Elevation Golf Club was created. Our 6,000-square-foot short-game area is designed to help golfers of all levels sharpen their skills, develop consistency, and stay in rhythm year-round. As Arnold Palmer said "Golf is a game of luck. The more you practice, the luckier you get."
Beyond the training, Elevation Golf Club is about community. We’re excited to bring this casual, athletic club to the metro, creating a welcoming space for golfers of all backgrounds. Because here, as the saying goes, “There are no strangers, just people you haven’t met" and we can't wait to meet YOU at the Club!
